Frequently Asked Questions About Cuddle Therapy

1. Is this sexual?

No. 100% platonic and professional.

Cuddle therapy is entirely non-sexual. All touch is appropriate, boundaried, and equivalent to what you might share with a family member. Clear professional boundaries are maintained at all times, and any sexual behaviour results in immediate session termination.

2. What do I wear?

Comfortable, loose clothing.

Wear comfortable indoor clothing or pyjamas. Nothing revealing or form-fitting. All clothing stays on throughout the entire session. You should be clean and freshly showered, with minimal use of strong scents.

3. If I feel aroused, what happens?

Normal response, handled professionally.

Physiological responses can sometimes happen – they're automatic nervous system reactions. If this occurs, we simply adjust positions or take a break. What matters is that no sexual behaviour occurs. The professional, boundaried environment helps most people feel relaxed rather than aroused.

4. How long are sessions?

60 or 90 minutes, customisable.

  • 60 minutes (£70) – Good for first-time sessions or regular maintenance
  • 90 minutes (£100) – Recommended for deeper relaxation and those addressing significant touch deprivation

5. What if I feel uncomfortable?

Stop or adjust anytime.

You can pause, change positions, or end the session at any point. Communication about comfort is encouraged throughout. Your boundaries are always respected.

6. Do I have to talk?

No. Silence is welcome.

Some people prefer to chat; others prefer quiet. Both are completely fine. There's no pressure to fill the silence – sometimes the most profound sessions happen in stillness.

7. Is this like massage?

Different but complementary.

Massage typically involves manipulation of muscles and uses oils on skin. Cuddle therapy focuses on holding, presence, and emotional connection. Both can be beneficial, but they serve different purposes.

8. Who uses cuddle therapy?

Anyone experiencing touch deprivation.

Clients include:

  • People living alone
  • Those who have lost partners
  • Individuals recovering from trauma
  • People with anxiety or depression
  • Those who struggle with intimacy

Common positions include:

  • Sitting side by side
  • Back to back (good for beginners)
  • Spooning (big or little spoon)
  • Head on lap or shoulder
  • Hand holding
  • Feet on lap with foot rub

14. Can I cancel?

Yes, with 24-hour notice.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests need to be made at least 24 hours before your appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows forfeit the session fee.

15. Is there anyone who shouldn't book?
